Dear Moms, You’ve Got This!

Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs in the world. Whether you’re a first-time mom or have been through it all before, it’s perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed. Some days, it might seem like you have no idea what you’re doing, but here’s the truth: you are doing an amazing job, and you’ve got everything under control, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

You might hear other moms talking about their perfect routines or how their kids sleep through the night, and you may wonder if you’re doing something wrong. You’re not. Being a mom is not about having it all together every moment of the day. It’s about showing up, loving your children, and doing the best you can, even when it’s hard. The fact that your kids are alive, loved, and cared for speaks volumes about your ability as a mom.

Many moms express guilt about not spending enough time with their kids or needing help from a nanny or family members. If that’s you, let go of the guilt. As one mom shared in an online conversation, “It’s okay to ask for help, and it’s okay to take a break when you need one. You cannot pour from an empty cup.”

In her book, The Gifts of Imperfection, Brené Brown writes, “No matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.” That statement rings true for every mom out there. You don’t have to do it all perfectly. You don’t need to be a superwoman. What matters most is that you are there for your children in your own way.

Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. We often push ourselves to the limit, putting our own needs last. But remember, taking care of yourself is taking care of your family. The book, The Power of Self-Care reminds us, “Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you.” You deserve to be well-rested and fulfilled, and your children will thrive when you are, too.

So, here’s your reminder: You are doing an incredible job. Whether you have a whole village helping you or you’re flying solo, you are enough, and you are in control. Your children are lucky to have you, and you’ve got everything it takes to raise them.
